FILMMAKERS

Entry Form

BIFF's preferred screening format is 35mm. Digital cinema projection is available at our main venues. Films may screen in Betacam SP video format (NTSC only) at the discretion of the Festival.

In addition, films shall not have been screened commercially (in the USA) or released on video or available on the Internet prior to the Festival dates. Again, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Festival.

Finally, entrants must cover the expenses related to shipping the VHS preview tape (DVDs are acceptable too) and, later, the 35mm print to the Film Festival office. BIFF will cover the costs of return shipping of the film print only. If you wish to have your VHS preview tape (or DVD) returned you need to send US$25 with your submission.

BIFF is happy to work in conjunction with other festivals and exhibitors to keep filmmakers' shipping costs to a minimum.
